Chunkook Lee’s practice draws from the symbolic visual language of myth, fantasy, and religious iconography. Working across a range of techniques and materials, he expands the boundaries of painting into three-dimensional space. This dynamic interplay between surface and medium opens up new ways of interpreting painting and sculpture while reflecting on the relationship between the human and the natural world.
Born in 1995, Chunkook Lee is a South Korean artist living and working in Seoul. He completed his BA in Sculpture at Chung-Ang University, then received an MFA in Sculpture at Hongik University. Lee has since had three solo exhibitions in Seoul, including Farm at Bio Gallery in 2025 and Hit and Run at Artspace Hyeong in 2022. He has also participated in numerous group shows in South Korea, Italy and London. In 2024, he exhibited at SWAB Contemporary Art Fair in Barcelona.
